Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) visit to review the implementation of the simultaneous toddlers' measurement and stunting intervention in Bogor, West Java, is expected to motivate parties to reduce stunting prevalence.Acting governor of West Java, Bey Triadi Machmudin, delivered the remarks here on Tuesday.
"We really appreciate Mr. Jokowi's visit who provides motivation for us in reducing stunting," he said.
Machmudin noted that West Java is targeting to reduce stunting prevalence to 14 percent by the end of 2024. He said he is optimistic that the target can be achieved if the simultaneous children's body measurement and stunting intervention activities are held regularly.
These efforts can make stunting handling more accurate and on-target, he added.
"The target is to reduce the stunting rate in West Java to 14 percent in 2024. I think the measurement method here is more accurate, on-target, with higher participation (from the community)," he said.
President Widodo earlier reviewed the implementation of the simultaneous children's measurement and stunting intervention at the Wijaya Kusuma Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Kebon Pedes village, Bogor city, West Java.

At the post, children's height and weight were measured and pregnant women and toddlers were given nutritious food and supplements. The activity was joined by 105 people, including toddlers, pregnant women, and women who were about to get married.
On that occasion, President Widodo also handed over supplements to them. The simultaneous children's measurement and stunting intervention is part of the government's efforts to reduce the stunting rate in Indonesia, which is a national priority in the health sector.
