Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, has said that improving human capital (modal manusia) is necessary for achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision and creating competitive human resources.

"The challenges of creating competitive human resources are becoming increasingly complex, especially amidst technological advances and changes in the world of work," he observed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"Therefore, we must focus on improving competency, digitalization, and adaptive resilience in facing various changes, as President Prabowo always says," he added.

The minister informed that one of the main focuses of the Indonesia Human Capital and Beyond Summit, held on Wednesday, was the employment program for 2024–2029.

The program includes improving workforce competency through reskilling and upskilling, particularly in the green, food security, and digital technology sectors.

"Through these programs, we aim to improve the quality of the Indonesian workforce through collaboration with various stakeholders, including industry, educational institutions, and local governments," he said.

The ministry is also implementing another program for increasing the protection and welfare of workers.

Yassierli said that the ministry will strengthen worker protection by reinforcing fair wage scales and providing social security, especially for vulnerable groups and people with disabilities.

"With skills development programs, social protection, and innovation in labor management, the ministry is committed to improving the standard of living and competitiveness of the Indonesian workforce," he added.
