"Through the Germas program and strengthening the health information system, we make the people of West Lombok healthy, fit, and productive"
West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, May 20 (Antara) - The West Lombok government, West Nusa Tenggara, has put the Healthy People Movement (Germas) program on a firm basis to realize a healthy, fit, and productive society, local Health Office Chief Rachman Sahnan Putra stated.

"Through the Germas program and strengthening the health information system, we make the people of West Lombok healthy, fit, and productive," Putra remarked here on Saturday.

Efforts to stabilize the Germas program were discussed during the Regional Health Work Meeting being held at the Senggigi tourism resort here on May 19-20, 2017.

Putra noted that the Germas program will be implemented on the field by necessitating all heads of Community Health Centers to conduct door-to-door visits to the people`s houses for conducting family health data collection.

According to Putra, the health of the local communities serves as the foundation for building creative and innovative human resources, as health is also an indicator of the community`s welfare.

Adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle becomes crucial for urban residents who are vulnerable to some life-threatening diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure.

Such diseases usually arise owing to unhealthy lifestyles and limited physical activity. To this end, the West Lombok district government has appealed to the public to prioritize health as part of their day-to-day lives.

He remarked that raising awareness on Germas can provide clear and accurate information related to health services, especially in West Lombok District. (*)
