Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday inaugurated former Bank Indonesia deputy governor Juda Agung as the new deputy finance minister in the oath-taking ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta.He replaces Thomas Djiwandono, who will succeed him as the central bank's new deputy governor.
Agung's inauguration was based on Presidential Decree No.3M of 2026 on the dismissal and appointment of the Deputy Finance Minister, inked by President Prabowo on February 5, 2026.
President Prabowo guided Agung to recite his oath of office.
“In the name of God, I vow to fulfill my responsibilities to the best extent in a fair and just manner and to uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” the pledge read.
Furthermore, Agung pledged to strictly enforce all applicable laws in accordance with the 1945 Constitution and to faithfully serve the country and the nation.

Also present during the oath-taking procession were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Red and White Cabinet ministers, and other high-ranking officials.
Juda Agung, a graduate of agricultural technology from IPB University in 1987, rose through the ranks at Bank Indonesia from a staff member level to senior analyst position, later serving as head of the economic and monetary policy department and as an assistant to the BI governor.

He also served at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), serving as its executive director from 2017 to 2019.
Agung served as Bank Indonesia deputy governor from 2022 until his resignation effective on January 13, 2026, with the central bank confirming Agung's exit on January 19.
Besides Agung, President Prabowo also inaugurated Adies Kadir as a Constitutional Court justice at the same oath-taking ceremony.
