Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian economy grew 5.72 percent year-on-year (yoy) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2022 as compared to 5.45 percent yoy in the previous quarter, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS).
"Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2022, based on current prices (ADHB), was recorded at Rp5,091.2 trillion and based on constant prices (ADHK) was at Rp2,976.8 trillion," BPS Chief Margo Yuwono stated during an online press conference on the country's economic growth in Q3 in Jakarta on Monday.
The country's GDP in Q3 of 2021 only reached Rp4,325.2 trillion based on current prices and Rp2,815.9 trillion based on constant prices. Annual economic growth has persistently shown an upward trend in the four consecutive quarters and has hovered above five percent since the fourth quarter of 2021, he pointed out.
"The growth sends a signal that the Indonesian economic recovery is continuing and getting stronger. This is achievement that the entire Indonesian nation made amid the increasingly uncertain global condition. However, we are still able to maintain our economic growth and even the trend (of economic growth) continues to strengthen," he remarked.
