Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police (Polri) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ensured that police and related stakeholders were ready to escort departing state heads and delegates of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
"Of course, we will be busy, given the different departure schedules of the delegates. Some are still engaged in activities, and maybe, there are also some of them, who plan to stay to enjoy the beauty of Labuan Bajo," Prabowo noted in a written statement received in Jakarta, on Thursday.
He said that the police had evaluated security measures during the 42nd ASEAN Summit, which culminated on Wednesday (May 10), adding that delegates and state heads have started to depart for their respective countries after participating in the entire series of activities of the summit on Thursday.
However, he said, the departures were not simultaneous while urging Polri to make adjustments to escort them. In the efforts to provide a sense of security during the departures, the police is working in close coordination with all stakeholders, including the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
"Of course, our personnel have taken measures to prepare for the departures and have been coordinating with all related stakeholders, including with our colleagues from the first ring of Paspampres," he pointed out.

According to Prabowo, all measures were taken to ensure that the police is ready to make immediate adjustments in the event of sudden changes in plans of departures. Despite the asynchronous nature of the departures, the general ensured that Polri, in principle, would exert its best efforts to secure and escort all activities, saying that it will "particularly provide security to the activities that are still underway and to the departures of all delegates."
