Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has urged residents to stay clear of Mount Awu's danger zone in Sangihe Islands District, North Sulawesi."Based on continuous visual and instrumental monitoring, Mount Awu's activity level remains at level three," P. Hadi Wijaya, head of the Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Agency (PVMBG), informed in a report shared on Monday.

He delivered the statement at the signing ceremony of the National Strategic Project agreement at Wiraraja Green Renewable Energy and Smart Eco Industry Park in Batam, Riau Islands, on Monday.

"Last month, the semiconductor team from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) came to Batam to see the semiconductor ecosystem," he said.

The development of the semiconductor and battery industry is expected to push up the number of workers and bring about significant economic growth in the Riau Islands.
