Sentani, Papua (ANTARA) - The Papua provincial government is hoping that the village digitalization program will provide benefits to Papuans, especially the residents of Doyo Baru village, Jayapura District.
Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong said here on Tuesday that digitalization has become an indicator of change in many sectors, including in rural areas or villages."The digital village program is an effort to present digital transformation that reaches all aspects of life," he added.
According to Limbong, the main goal of village digitalization is to create more advanced, independent, and prosperous villages by utilizing technology as the main driver.
"In this program, various services have been designed to facilitate access to public services such as village administration and population data management," he said.
He added that village digitalization also aims to boost the economy through social media platforms, which can support local micro, small, and medium enterprises in marketing their products widely.

He then invited all elements of society in Papua, including the government, private sector, academicians, and the community, to jointly support the program's sustainability.
"Let's make the village digitalization as a lesson, not just a means of modernization," he said.
He added he believes that through the spirit of mutual cooperation, the village digitalization program will be able to answer the challenges of village development in Papua.
"A smart or digital village is the key to opening the door to the nation's progress as a whole," he said.
