Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will encourage sustainable funding innovations for clean water and sanitation infrastructure at the upcoming World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali, an official said on Tuesday.

"This includes promoting infrastructure development funded through innovative and sustainable approaches, along with providing technical support," said Firdaus Ali, a special staff member for water resources of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing.

He noted that water quality needs to be improved by encouraging initiatives to have better water sources and more effective water processing technologies. There is also a need for community participation in managing water and sanitation resources, he added. He emphasized the importance of regulations that support sustainable water and sanitation, including waste management.
