Jakarta (ANTARA) - People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Ahmad Muzani delivered an invitation for inauguration of the president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period to Minister of Defense cum President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
Muzani directly handed over the invitation to Prabowo at the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Monday during a closed-door meeting. The journalists' group that arrived at the ministry to cover the event was unable to record the invitation handover due to being requested to wait outside the meeting room.
After handing over the invitation to Prabowo, Muzani continued his agenda to meet President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace to also deliver the invitation for the upcoming inauguration of the president and vice president on October 20, 2024.
He was also scheduled to deliver the invitation directly to Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Subianto and Raka will be inaugurated as president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period on October 20, 2024, at 10:00 local time at the Nusantara Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta.
At the event, the 2024 presidential election candidates and all leaders of political parties participating in the 2024 election are invited to attend the inauguration procession.

Several heads of state were also invited to attend the inauguration of the president and vice president for the 2024-2029 period. The inauguration will be started with the opening ceremony, reading of the General Election Commission's decree, the inauguration procession, reading of the minutes, the new president's speech, and closing ceremony.
