Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Navy's hospital ship KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-991 (WSH-991) has arrived in Fiji as part of its goodwill mission during the second leg of its port visit to South Pacific nations.

The ship, which sailed under the Navy's 2024 Pacific Port Visit mission, arrived at North King's Wharf in Suva, Fiji, on Saturday (November 2), according to TNI-AL's 3rd Fleet Command Information Centre statement received here on Sunday.

Colonel Arif Prasetyo Irbianto, the commander of the 2024 Pacific Port Visit Task Force, noted that the goodwill mission in Fiji includes humanitarian assistance and meetings with local officials.

"During our three days in Fiji, the task force is opening the ship for the public, handing over medicines, performing courtesy calls to local officials, and hosting a reception on board," he said.

Locals and Indonesians in Fiji are welcome to visit the ship until November 3. Visitors can tour the ship and observe its control room, helicopter deck, and medical facilities, he added.
