Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria underscored that strengthening computational infrastructure and nurturing digital talent are key to accelerating Indonesia's digital economy growth. He said Indonesia’s digital economy offers vast business opportunities, supported by rich resources and a growing pool of digital talent continuously developed by the government.

"We believe that we will lead in five to ten years, and it depends on our preparedness," he stated at the launch of The Empowering Indonesia Report 2025 in Jakarta on Monday.

Patria noted that ASEAN’s digital economy is projected to reach up to US$1 trillion by 2030, with Indonesia expected to contribute about 40 percent of the total value. To reach that goal, he stressed the need to balance the expansion of computational infrastructure with efforts to improve the quality of digital talent.

He added that robust infrastructure is essential for the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, including the development of reliable computing systems for data processing and AI-ready data centers.
