Jakarta (ANTARA) - Emphasizing that the underprivileged community deserves the best health services, President Prabowo Subianto has asked his ranks to ensure that the best hospitals with sophisticated resources are not enjoyed by the rich alone.“If necessary, insurance (providers) and the government can intervene to help the underprivileged access the best service with advanced equipment,” he said while opening the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Bali International Hospital (BIH) in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday.
He added that the state is obligated to protect its people, including through the provision of health services. Therefore, along with the establishment of international-standard hospitals, Prabowo also highlighted the importance of strengthening the health insurance system for the community.
“I am proud to know that Indonesia has this kind of (health) facility. We must also strengthen our insurance system, not limited to the upper class only,” he said while referring to the Bali International Hospital.
Prabowo also praised the efforts that ensured sophisticated equipment was available in domestic hospitals.

“We will continue to educate our resources on operating the equipment to provide the best health services for our people,” Prabowo said.
The Bali International Hospital, located in the Sanur Health SEZ, occupies an area of 67 thousand square meters. It has 255 beds, 8 operating rooms, 38 ICU rooms, and 4 laboratories.

The hospital is designed to be a medical tourism and referral destination, and serve both domestic and foreign patients.
Some of the services available at Bali International Hospital are oncology, cardiology, emergency services, integrated clinics, radiology and radiotherapy, and medical check-ups.
The hospital has four globally-recognized oncologists on its panel: Dr. Robert Lim, Dr. Francis Chin Kuok Choon, Dr. Patricia Kho Sunn Sunn, and Dr. Tan Yew Oo.
