Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has granted rehabilitation to three individuals found guilty in the corruption case involving state-owned company PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, including its former CEO, Ira Puspadewi.
According to House of Representatives (DPR) Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the president's rehabilitation also covered former ASDP officials Muhammad Yusuf Hadi and Harry Muhammad Adhi Tjaksono.
"Through intensive communication with the government, praise be to God, today, President Prabowo Subianto has signed the rehabilitation for the three names," Ahmad stated during the press conference at the Presidential Palace complex on Tuesday.
Indonesia's Criminal Procedure Law defines rehabilitation as the restoration of rights aimed at repairing the individual’s legal standing, reputation, and dignity, after they have been subjected to improper or unlawful justice actions.
The deputy speaker said that President Prabowo has been paying full attention to the case that started in July 2024, and added that the parliament has received input from various members of society regarding the case.
In response, the parliament instructed Commission III, responsible for legal affairs, to study the corruption case development, and its report has been handed over to the government for the president's consideration, according to Ahmad.

The case began with a joint operation that later became an acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara (JN) by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry during the 2019--2022 period. The corporate action was implemented by then-ASDP CEO Ira Puspadewi with approval from the board of directors.
However, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reported that it had identified irregularities in the merger process and concluded that the state had suffered a loss of Rp1.25 trillion (US$75.24 million) as a result of actions that allegedly “enriched” PT Jembatan Nusantara.
The KPK subsequently declared Puspadewi, along with ASDP officials and the owner of PT Jembatan Nusantara, as a corruption suspect.

Although Puspadewi was found not to have received any financial benefits from the suspected corruption, the Corruption Criminal Court declared Puspadewi guilty and sentenced her to 4.5 years in prison.
However, Presiding Justice Sunoto delivered a dissenting opinion, asserting that the defendant’s actions fell within the scope of the business judgment rule and were undertaken without any intent to embezzle state funds. On that basis, he argued that she should be acquitted.
