Lombok Timur (ANTARA) - The government has allocated Rp105 billion (around US$6 million) for school revitalization in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to improve education quality, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti said.
"It is part of President Prabowo Subianto's priority program under the fourth Asta Cita mission, which focuses on developing excellent, healthy, and globally competitive human resources," Mu'ti said while inaugurating an education revitalization program in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday.
He said the program reflected strong cooperation between the central, provincial, and regional governments.
"The Primary and Secondary Education Ministry's two main programs are school revitalization and digitalization," he said.
Mu'ti said the ministry allocated Rp527.6 billion in revitalization assistance for 531 schools in West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara in 2025.
"The recipients include 69 early childhood education centers, 227 elementary schools, 107 junior high schools, 60 senior high schools, 17 vocational schools, 20 special schools, and 11 community learning centers," he said.
Specifically in East Lombok, the program covers 87 schools with a total budget of Rp105 billion, including seven early childhood education centers, 36 elementary schools, 19 junior high schools, nine senior high schools, 12 vocational schools, and four special schools.

For the digitalization program, the ministry has distributed 7,080 interactive flat panel (IFP) devices valued at Rp236.168 billion to schools across NTB.
"In East Lombok alone, 1,739 IFPs valued at Rp47.179 billion have been distributed. The entire revitalization and digitalization process for 2025 has been completed," he said.
Mu'ti emphasized three important elements for improving education: a progressive mindset, strong mentality, and sincere dedication.
He said infrastructure and technology would have little meaning without qualified teachers and students' enthusiasm for learning.

"Teachers are key. Technology and infrastructure are important, but teachers are irreplaceable. Therefore, we are focusing on teachers' qualifications, competencies, and welfare," he said.
Mu'ti expressed hope that schools and teachers would make optimal use of the assistance provided.
"Through cooperation among all parties, the ministry aims to realize quality education for all under the president's fourth Asta Cita mission," he said.
