Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto announced the government's plan to install advanced televisions in schools, including those in remote areas, to support the learning activities of Indonesia's young talents.
"I will soon install advanced televisions in all schools across Indonesia. Through these televisions, we will broadcast all the necessary educational materials," he said during his speech at an event held to commemorate National Teachers' Day in Jakarta on Thursday.
Prabowo explained that the initiative is oriented toward ensuring that students of all schools receive the educational services they deserve regardless of the remoteness of their schools or the lack of teachers.
On that note, he underlined the importance of ensuring that all schools offer students adequate and clean facilities, stating that schools are central to national development.
"Schools should be good and clean. We cannot afford to leave any school seeing its roof collapse. Moreover, no school should lack toilet facilities for students.," he stressed.
Prabowo said he has instructed related ministers to help improve teachers' welfare.
