Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, has said the conflict on the Thailand-Cambodia border has not had any impact on Indonesia so far.“The Cambodian war has not impacted Indonesia and is still considered limited,” he informed in Jakarta on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is expecting Thailand and Cambodia to resolve tensions through peaceful cooperation.
“We are confident that the two neighboring countries will immediately return to peaceful means to settle their differences, in line with the principles enshrined in the ASEAN Charter and the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation,” the ministry wrote in a post on social media platform X on Friday.
It said that Indonesia is closely tracking developments on the Thailand-Cambodia border and monitoring the safety of Indonesian citizens affected by the clash.
Earlier on Thursday, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, urged Indonesian citizens in the country to pay close attention to security developments amid rising border tensions.

The embassy asked Indonesian nationals to increase vigilance, remain calm, and avoid traveling to the Thailand-Cambodia border. Indonesian nationals who have been residing in Thailand for more than six months have been encouraged to report themselves through the Peduli WNI portal, www.peduliwni.kemlu.go.id.
Those requiring emergency assistance or seeking to provide information about Indonesian nationals affected by the conflict have been asked to contact the Indonesian Embassy's Consular Hotline in Bangkok (+66 92-903-1103).

Border clashes between troops from both countries escalated on Thursday, starting with an exchange of fire between ground troops in disputed territory. There were deaths and injuries on both sides, including among civilians.
Authorities in four Thai provinces bordering Cambodia have announced the evacuation of residents amid the tensions, according to a report in The Nation newspaper.
