Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Digital Ministry prepares high-speed internet of nearly 200 Mbps and integrates digital skills, including digital ethics, introduction to devices, and coding, into the curriculum to support the People's School (Sekolah Rakyat) initiative.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria highlighted Sekolah Rakyat as a breakthrough in reaching out to marginalized communities and supporting youth by equipping them with digital skills required in the future. He opined that supporting Sekolah Rakyat is crucial for improving national digital literacy.

"This school, apart from instilling knowledge and shaping character, also teaches skills. We do not want anyone to be left behind in this digital transformation (era). Everyone must take part," Patria stressed.

The learning process will be fortified with a Learning Management System (LMS), which enables students to learn online.

Patria recounted the story of Naila, a Sekolah Rakyat student passionate about learning despite coming from an underprivileged family.

The enthusiasm shows the importance of the state providing children with high-quality learning experiences, which will shape Indonesia's progress toward Golden Indonesia by 2045.

"Hopefully, there will be more Nailas in Indonesia whom we can provide access and opportunity (to study)," he noted.

The ministry aims to ensure digital transformation advances throughout Indonesia, not just in urban areas, by adopting an inclusive and collaborative approach.

The ministry ensures internet access to support the learning process in Sekolah Rakyat, as well as advances digitalization in national education.

The ministry's special staff, Alfreno Kautsar Ramadhan, stated on Saturday (July 5) that the initiative reflects the commitment to President Prabowo Subianto's directive to ensure equity in education and a digitally integrated education.
