Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) and Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) in Brunei Darussalam are finalizing a cooperation plan to place skilled migrant workers in the healthcare sector in Brunei.
Talks were held during a visit by JPMC Director of Personnel Salehin and his delegation to the ministry’s office on Wednesday (Sept. 17), according to a press release.
The meeting discussed the continuation of the collaboration plan for the placement of skilled workers at JPMC through a private-to-private scheme.
“This collaboration will be a follow-up project to bring in skilled workers from Indonesia,” Salehin said.

He added that the two countries should align Brunei’s labor needs with Indonesia’s supply through training and education programs, ensuring both sides benefit.
The cooperation agreement is now in its final stage, with only the recruitment agreement pending. Once completed, the first batch of nurse recruitment will begin in Indonesia.
“Hopefully, the recruitment of 100 nurses can be carried out this year,” he said.

The meeting was also attended by Labor Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, Rizky Mandalika, Director of Capacity Building for Indonesian Migrant Workers at KP2MI RR Lia Parisiana, and Director of Promotion and Foreign Cooperation at KP2MI Sri Mulyani.
Lia Parisiana reminded both parties to complete the necessary requirements for the placement program. Meanwhile, Sri Mulyani expressed support for the cooperation through a private-to-private scheme to accelerate the placement of skilled workers.
“Once everything is running smoothly, we will expand this collaboration through private-to-government and government-to-government schemes,” she said.
