Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Government of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and the Victorian Government of Australia are preparing to extend their cooperation across various sectors in November 2025.

This plan was discussed during a meeting between Yogyakarta Sultan and Governor Hamengkubuwono X and the Victorian Government’s Commissioner for Southeast Asia, Naila Mazzucco, in Yogyakarta on Friday.

Acting Head of the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office of Yogyakarta, Imam Pratanadi, said that the Yogyakarta Government welcomed Victoria’s initiative to continue the partnership.

According to him, during the meeting, the Sultan shared several ideas to strengthen the cooperation, particularly in the education sector.

However, Pratanadi noted that the details cannot be disclosed yet, as both sides have not reached a final agreement. The confirmed cooperation plans will be announced in November during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

“God willing, on November 21, 2025, a dinner and MoU signing ceremony will be held to extend the partnership between Yogyakarta and Victoria. The signing will be conducted by the Australian Prime Minister and witnessed by the Governor of Victoria,” Pratanadi said.

He added that the Sultan has been invited to visit Victoria to meet the governor and explore potential areas for further cooperation, especially in education and culture.
