Praya, Central Lombok (ANTARA) - Obtaining certifications via the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program can help prevent land disputes, the National Agency for Land Affairs (BPN) of Central Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara, has said.

"This PTSL program can provide clear legal reasons to the community for their owned land and prevent future land problems," head of BPN Central Lombok, L Suharli, said in Praya, Central Lombok on Tuesday.

This year's realization of the PTSL program in Central Lombok has been completed, he informed.

Certificates were issued across six villages: Desa Ketara, Tanak Beak, Teratak, Tampak Siring, Kelebuh, and Desa Bakan, he said.

"The realization of the PTSL program 2021 has reached 100 percent," he added.

As many as 8,482 certificates were issued this year, which means the certification target in Central Lombok district this year has been met. Some of the official certificates have also been distributed to the community, he added.

"The rest will be distributed in December 2021," he disclosed.

According to him, the certification is part of the national program and is aimed at helping people who do not have a certificate for the land they own. In addition, the PTSL program can provide a firm legal basis in case landowners face land disputes in the future, he said.

"People have a piece of land, but their rights foundations on the land they own were unclear. Hence, they have been assisted by the government through the issuance of the certificates," he explained.

Based on BPN data, in Central Lombok, there are still many parcels of land that have not been certified. The unregistered lands comprise 125 thousand fields, which are spread across 139 villages, Suharli informed.

"However, the land that has been registered is 277 thousand fields of 353 thousand," he noted.

Therefore, he said his team will work to provide more optimal services to the community, saying some villages have sought PTSL programs in 2022.

"But we can not be sure yet, because we have not received the information from the center," he added.
