Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) has partnered with Google Indonesia to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in driving digital growth nationwide

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two parties in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"My hope is that this cooperation can start with 500 MSMEs and grow to 5,000 and even 50,000 MSMEs, because, as we all know, Indonesia has 60 million MSMEs," Kadin Indonesia Chairperson Anindya Bakrie said in his statement.

According to him, Kadin Indonesia's network, which spans all provinces, districts, and cities, can be leveraged to encourage the digitalization of MSMEs, including those in remote areas.

"With Google's global network and Kadin's national network, I believe this synergy can create a sustainable model for MSME empowerment," he added.

Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo, the Deputy Chair for Communication and Digital Affairs of Kadin Indonesia, explained that the strategic partnership focuses on three main pillars: improving digital skills, expanding market access, and enhancing practical expertise.

"We will achieve this through various joint training programs, such as YouTube Shopping Affiliate, where creators can promote products or brands and earn commissions based on conversions," she said.

She further noted that the program not only provides additional income for content creators but also opens new marketing channels for MSMEs to reach a wider audience.

"MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy, contributing more than 60 percent to GDP. To achieve the 8-percent economic growth target, accelerating MSME digital transformation is crucial," she emphasized.

Through this collaboration, Kadin Indonesia and Google will also provide capacity-building and digital literacy training, including enhancing product monetization skills and developing national digital talent.
