Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has readied Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Centers (Balmon SFR) in various regions to help maintain the quality of telecommunications services during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
From Dec. 19, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026, Balmon SFR conducts radio frequency spectrum monitoring to help safeguard service quality along travel routes, in tourist areas, and at public gathering centers during the year-end holidays.
“Even though this is a holiday period, our colleagues continue to work to support and provide services for the public,” Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid said while inspecting the Christmas and New Year command post here on Tuesday.
“The public can enjoy their holidays while staying connected, so they can travel and vacation with their families in a calm and comfortable manner,” she continued.
Balmon SFR is also carrying out additional monitoring in areas currently facing disasters, including Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and South Kalimantan.
Minister Hafid said the effort is aimed at helping residents access information and communication services under emergency conditions.

Coordination among Balmon units is being carried out throughout the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period.
The results of monitoring telecommunications service delivery during that period will be used as evaluation material to improve communication services during the next major holiday period.
The ministry estimated telecommunications traffic will increase by up to 30 percent during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
To ensure telecommunications services run smoothly, the Ministry has established a Joint Command Post Task Force.

Operating from December 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026, across 255 locations, the task force is responsible for monitoring the quality of telecommunications services.
The government also encouraged cellular operators to mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall by preparing backup power supplies, such as generators and batteries, to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications services.
