Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR) has invited the public to directly monitor the drafting of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) Amendment Bill.Habiburokhman, chair of the DPR’s Commission III — which is overseeing the drafting — even welcomed citizens to stay overnight at the Parliament Complex to observe the process.
"You are welcome to stay overnight if the session runs until midnight. You can choose to sit on the upper or lower floors. We’re allowing full public access to the process," he said at the Parliament Complex on Friday.
He added that the DPR would provide refreshments to those who decide to monitor the overnight deliberations.
"In addition to any overtime pay you might request from your employer, we’ll provide tea, coffee, and snacks," he told reporters.
As a goodwill gesture, he said, Commission III has agreed to live-stream the bill’s formulation and synchronization sessions on the DPR’s official YouTube channel.
