Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, on behalf of all members, apologized for the mistakes and shortfalls while carrying out their duties.
Ahmad emphasized that the people's aspirations are the responsibility of all DPR members. However, he understand that an apology alone was not enough.

"This apology was not enough without a comprehensive evaluation and improvement, which will be done as soon as possible," Ahmad said while receiving the audience from the Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM) at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The deputy has also coordinated with all the DPR leaders and will conduct several evaluations.

He stated that DPR will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of allowances, and specifically for housing allowances, they have been discontinued since August 31. Then, he said, DPR also enforce moratorium on working visits or official travel abroad for DPR members and implement efficiency measures for working visits within the country.

On that occasion, Ahmad also expressed his deepest condolences for the death of online motorbike taxi driver, Affan Kurniawan, a victim of the riot.
“And condolences for all the victims of the demonstrations that occurred some time ago,” he added.
