Garut, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas will build 2,500 homes in Garut district, West Java, as part of President Prabowo Subianto’s national program to deliver three million housing units, officials said on Monday.The project, to be located in the Limbangan sub-district, is expected to contribute to the government’s push to expand affordable housing across the country.
“The plan is to build around 2,500 homes in Limbangan,” said Budi Satria Wiguna, Director of Risk Control and Corruption Prevention at the ministry, during a working visit to Garut District Head Abdusy Syakur Amin.
He said the central government has started rolling out the three-million-homes program nationwide, with Garut included in the early stages.
Wiguna added that smooth coordination with local authorities, particularly on permits, will be key to moving forward.
“We hope everything will run smoothly," he said.

He said that the ministry would soon hold talks with the head of Garut district’s investment and one-stop services office. Meanwhile, Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin welcomed the initiative and pledged his administration’s full support.
“The main point is to push Garut district to quickly implement President Prabowo’s three-million homes program,” he said.

The Garut district government pledged to ease bureaucracy and licensing while ensuring compliance with regulations.
“We are committed to helping with the licensing process and other requirements in line with regulations,” he said.
