Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry has deployed one thousand portable diesel generators and three thousand gas stoves for communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"Under President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, we dispatched 1,000 generators today," ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta on Saturday. He stressed that the shipment of generators, each with an average capacity of 5–7 kVA, is urgently needed, as although the Arun–Bireuen transmission line has been restored, state-owned utility PLN is still unable to supply electricity to several villages with low-voltage networks in Aceh.

The ESDM Ministry, he continued, is committed to taking all necessary measures to expedite the full recovery of electricity networks in disaster-stricken regions, including through the deployment of additional generators.

He further explained that the ministry has formed a joint team with state-run oil and gas giant Pertamina to ensure sufficient diesel fuel supply for the generators.

"In this way, we aim to extend public services to residents still struggling with the impacts of the disasters, particularly in the energy sector," Lahadalia added.

Highlighting the gas stoves, the minister noted that each was accompanied by sets of gas regulators and hoses, packaged in 300 boxes weighing about 8 kilograms each. He went on to explain that the generators were transported aboard Hercules aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), while the gas stoves were delivered by cargo planes.

Lahadalia assured that all aid items had undergone inspection and data collection, with packaging prepared in line with logistical safety standards to ensure they are ready for use upon arrival. He then stressed that the ESDM Ministry is committed to ensuring targeted and equitable distribution of aid to support survivors during the emergency.
