Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of Halal Certification Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, has encouraged business owners to secure halal certification, noting that it adds business value while boosting the competitiveness of Indonesia's top tourist destinations."In global tourism, the availability of halal products is key to offering inclusive services for travelers with diverse backgrounds and needs," Hasan said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He pointed to popular Indonesian destinations like Bali, where ongoing guidance and oversight encourage businesses offering halal products to apply for and secure official halal certification.

According to Haikal, halal products are essential, even in international destinations like Bali, which welcomes visitors from all over the world.

"Halal options are needed in Bali because there are tourists who require them. Therefore, once certified, the halal label must be clearly displayed to provide certainty and peace of mind for consumers," he said.

BPJPH continues to strengthen its supervision and guidance on halal product assurance in Bali to ensure certainty and comfort for international tourists with diverse needs.

Beyond assisting uncertified businesses, the agency also urges certified business owners to display the halal label prominently as part of public transparency. Hasan underscored the halal certification in Bali is becoming increasingly relevant as halal evolves into a universal standard.

"Halal is no longer seen as a need for Muslim consumers only. It is tied to quality, hygiene, health, traceability, and responsible production processes," he said.
