Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government is integrating several strategic cross-sectoral programs to boost job creation as part of efforts to alleviate poverty and improve people’s welfare.“The government’s efforts that are integrated from various sectors and ministries have the same goal of boosting new job creation,” State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday.
He informed that the efforts began with improving population data to enable a more detailed mapping of the community.
Hadi added that one of the programs expected to contribute to job creation is the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which was officially launched in January 2025.
Besides improving children’s nutritional status, the program is aimed at creating employment opportunities for people living below the poverty line, including those who have lost their jobs.
The minister further said that the government is also pushing the Red and White Village Cooperatives program.
