The documents include family cards (KK), identity cards, birth certificates, death certificates, and other civil registry documents requested by affected communities.

“For damaged or lost documents, we are replacing them, and this process is already underway. As of today, 63,230 documents have been issued free of charge,” he said during a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Monday.

Karnavian explained that since November, the Ministry of Home Affairs has deployed nine teams to support civil registration services across 52 disaster-affected districts and cities.

The support is focused on replacing residents’ documents that were lost or damaged due to the disaster.

According to the minister, most population and civil registry services in the affected areas remain operational or are currently in the process of recovery.

Meanwhile, offices in other areas, including those in North Sumatra and West Sumatra provinces, are reportedly continuing operations, with several technical issues already resolved.
