Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has launched the Klinik UMKM Bangkit initiative to help businesses recover from devastating floods in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, as authorities seek to revive local economies battered by repeated natural disasters.MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman said the clinics are designed as one-stop service centers with three main pillars: access to financing, support for marketing and local product purchases, and assistance to restart production, speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

The aim, he said, is to ensure affected MSMEs can secure working capital, keep their products selling despite disrupted markets, and resume production as quickly as possible after the floods that damaged shops, equipment and supply chains.

To support financing services, the ministry has coordinated with 16 lending banks, six credit guarantee institutions, as well as the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia and the national alms agency Baznas, in order to widen access to loans and guarantees for affected entrepreneurs.

For the local product purchasing and marketing component, Maman said the ministry has partnered with 22 companies, including Lazada Indonesia, Shopee, Tokopedia, Grab, GoTo, Blibli, Indomaret, Alfamart and AEON, covering e-commerce, logistics and retail networks.

He said the partners are expected to help absorb MSME products from the three disaster-hit regions, keeping local trade moving and preventing prolonged income losses among small business owners and workers.

“Our target is that within the next one to six months, a closed-loop economy can be created in the affected areas,” Maman said.

“Economic circulation must first be strengthened locally so that supply and demand can grow together within those regions,” he added.

The Klinik UMKM Bangkit will be set up at eight locations: Banda Aceh, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, North Aceh, Aceh Tamiang, Central Tapanuli, Medan and Padang.

The clinics are scheduled to begin operations early next year, the ministry said.
