Mataram (ANTARA) - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum has dispatched eight collection items for the 2025 Islamic Arts Biennale at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Head of NTB Museum Ahmad Nuralam remarked on Thursday that the selected items include a keris, an Indonesian traditional dagger; a cipo' cila, a veil typically worn by women from Sumbawa Island; the Tajul Muluk geomancy book; and traditional utensils commonly used by the NTB tribes of Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo for eating betel leaves.

"We will display ethnographic items from the NTB people to promote the tourism and cultural appeal of this region," he said.

Nuralam stated that the eight items are scheduled to leave Indonesia on January 7 and arrive in Jeddah the following day after undergoing customs, immigration, and administrative processes.

Indonesia will also be represented by the Sonobudoyo Museum of Yogyakarta and the National Library at the upcoming exhibition.

The Islamic Arts Biennale, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation and sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is scheduled to take place from January 25 to May 25 at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

With the theme "The Art of Number," the event is one of the world's largest exhibitions focused on highlighting the richness and diversity of Islamic cultures and arts through displays of items from various countries.
