Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Fauzan, underscored the importance of young people optimizing their mindset and pursuing self-evolution in life during his address to new graduates last week.
Fauzan made this statement while giving a speech at the 74th graduation ceremony of the Veteran National Development University (UPN) of Jakarta on Saturday (April 12).
"Life is not enough to be lived in a mediocre way. You were born from a prestigious alma mater with great academic and social dignity. This must be reflected in you," Fauzan noted in the ministry's statement received here on Monday.
The deputy minister stated that earning an academic degree marks the beginning of a lifelong learning journey rather than its conclusion. The knowledge and degrees acquired in higher education should be leveraged to transform oneself and the surrounding environment for the better.
"Everyone possesses energy and potential that can be maximized. Those who cannot maximize their energy are what we call a minimized mindset," he stated.

Deputy Minister Fauzan urged the graduates to abandon such a mindset, which can trap individuals in limiting habits and common excuses, advocating instead for boldness in taking further steps and facing challenges. According to Fauzan, this proactive approach will help drive individuals to excel in any field they pursue.

He explained that the "Impactful Campus" program, being initiated by the ministry, aims to respond to issues in higher education.
This program targets optimizing the potential of campuses, such as research and lecturers' competencies, to address the real problems that arise in society.
