Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the Extended Family Organization (KBPP) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have agreed to collaborate to push entrepreneurship and MSME development.
Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurrahman, and general chairperson of the Polri KBPP, Evita Nursanty, signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation during the National Leadership Meeting of Polri KBPP at the Mobile Brigade Corps Command Headquarters in Depok, West Java, on Monday.
Abdurrahman said that the collaboration is expected to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the ministry and Polri KBPP. He added that the ministry will provide encouragement to Polri KBPP administrators who are running MSMEs nationwide.
“For those who already have micro, small, and medium enterprises, we encourage them to develop their businesses. For those who may not yet have, we support them so they can start their own businesses,” he said.

He added that his ministry and Polri KBPP will also cooperate to protect and empower MSMEs.
“The presence of Polri KBPP, together with Polri at each level, can act as a bridge for mediation if there are any legal or other issues. So, we want to try to push in that direction,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nursanty said that under the collaboration, the Ministry of MSMEs will share knowledge regarding MSME development steps with Polri KBPP cadres.
“Through this collaboration, I also hope that new entrepreneurs in the MSME sector will emerge within the Polri KBPP itself,” she added.
