Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak said the recruitment process for Army personnel is now more transparent, inclusive, and free of charge.“People used to think they needed connections or money to join the Army. But today, anyone can apply without paying a fee,” Maruli told reporters during the TNI Fair 2025 at Jakarta’s National Monument on Saturday.
He said the Army is improving the quality of its recruitment process by opening public complaint channels via phone and messaging apps to report potential misconduct.
“We encourage the public to report violations. This helps ensure a fair and open selection,” he added.

Maruli said the Army’s participation in the TNI Fair 2025 reflects its full support for the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), organized by TNI Headquarters.
The two-day event showcases military equipment and offers public services, food stations, and entertainment. The Army is exhibiting a range of modern defense systems and hosting recruitment and educational booths.

Visitors were seen taking photos with armored vehicles and seeking information at recruitment stands.
“Public enthusiasm is amazing. So many children came—hopefully, they’ll be our next generation,” Maruli said.
TNI Fair 2025 runs September 20–21, from 08:00 to 21:00 WIB at the Jakarta’s Monas (National Monument).
