Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto plans to provide motorcycles to family planning counselors and field officers supporting food distribution under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
Population and Family Development Minister Wihaji said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the motorbikes are intended to help workers more easily deliver free nutritious meals. He noted that family planning workers have played a key role in ensuring accurate MBG distribution through door-to-door services.
Wihaji said the government has deployed 42,163 family planning workers to distribute meals to more than three million pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under five. To support their mobility, he said President Prabowo intends to provide motorcycles, potentially including electric models.
Wihaji added that budget decisions would rest with the president, while his ministry would ensure proper beneficiary data and effective implementation.
"My duty as the president's aide is to help identify target beneficiaries and ensure the initiative delivers real benefits to the public," he stated.
