Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government announced that it has allocated a budget to continue the construction of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) project from Pluit and Muara Angke to Kali Lencong in 2026.
“In 2026, we have allocated funds to continue the NCICD, including 530 meters in Pluit, 350 meters in Muara Angke, and 750 meters in Kali Lencong,” Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said on Thursday. He did not specify the total amount of the budget prepared
He explained that by 2025, completed sections of the NCICD include the 1.2-kilometer Ancol segment, the 1.1-kilometer Muara Angke mitigation embankment, and 400 meters of the 600-meter Baywalk Pluit section.

Of the planned 28.2-kilometer giant sea wall, only 11.8 kilometers have been built.
“The Jakarta Provincial Government has completed 11.8 kilometers under our responsibility. We expect to add about 1.2 kilometers this year and another 1.2 kilometers next year. We will gradually close the remaining gaps,” Anung said.

He expressed hope that the sections under the central government's authority would also move forward soon, noting that the construction of the giant sea wall is urgently needed.
In June 2025, Anung inspected the tidal flood mitigation embankment project in Muara Angke, North Jakarta. He said the embankment development is part of Jakarta’s support for the giant sea wall project initiated by the central government.
The construction of the embankment used a budget of Rp52 billion (approximately US$3.12 million). The project had been discussed since 2024 but was delayed due to permit issues with local residents.
