Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Aceh Health Office, has deployed 396 additional backup healthcare personnel to areas hit by recent floods and landslides in Aceh.Acting Head of the Aceh Health Office Ferdiyus said on Sunday that the teams will work for 14 days in eight affected districts and cities.
He explained that since the emergency response period, more than 1,200 healthcare personnel from the Ministry of Health and the Aceh Health Office have been deployed across the province.
Speaking at the send-off ceremony, he expressed gratitude for the support of all parties throughout the emergency response and post-disaster recovery phases.
In remarks read by the Assistant for Special Affairs and Welfare, Syakir, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf expressed appreciation to the personnel for their dedication.
He noted that on this 67th day after the disaster, Aceh is now in a recovery phase that demands persistence and consistency.
In this phase, the health challenges facing the community are complex, ranging from disease risks to the physical and mental recovery of affected residents.

“During the recovery phase, the presence of healthcare personnel is vital to ensure that the recovery process remains sustainable, effective, and well-targeted,” he said.
The governor also highlighted the provincial government's commitment to supporting healthcare personnel and ensuring effective coordination on the ground.

Aceh is among the three provinces in Sumatra—alongside North Sumatra and West Sumatra—hit by floods and landslides in late November 2025.
According to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) records, as of February 1, 2026, the disasters have claimed 1,204 lives, with 562 fatalities recorded in Aceh alone.
