Nusantara (ANTARA) - Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) spokesperson Troy Pantouw said that the Garuda State Palace in Nusantara city has the potential to be opened for public tours like the White House in Washington D.C."Currently, we have opened access, (but it is) limited to the Plaza Seremoni, but it is possible that it will be open (to the public) like the White House," he informed here on Tuesday.

Many people registered to visit Nusantara's Government Core Area on Monday. On the first day, Plaza Seremoni and Taman Kusuma Bangsa Nusantara Memorial Park were opened to the public.

People who wish to visit the two spots need to register through the IKnow application first. The visitor quota is currently limited to 300 people per day. Pantouw revealed that OIKN is mulling the idea of offering a tour package to Garuda State Palace.

However, he said, the idea will take a long time to materialize as more studies are needed for its safe and smooth rollout.

"The public visiting the IKN is a new thing, while they (the White House) needed a long time to open for the general public," he pointed out.

Currently, the OIKN has only opened some spots to the public since the IKN is still being developed. This has necessitated setting a limit on the number of visitors to the new capital.

"It is only 300 visitors (per day). We consider various things, one of which is the ongoing development process so that it would not be disrupted. We will continue to evaluate this," he said.

In addition, supporting tourist destinations outside the government core area need to be built to turn IKN Nusantara into a tourist magnet, he added.
