Jakarta (ANTARA) - Eid al-Fitr is a meaningful momentum to share happiness, express affection, and forgive each other after the end of Ramadan, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has said.

"Eid al-Fitr is a meaningful moment that we await together, so we can share happiness, forgive each other's mistakes, and express our profound affection to all," he remarked in his Eid al-Fitr greeting, which was followed online from here on Friday.

The Vice President expressed the hope that all residents will celebrate Eid merrily with their families, neighbors, and relatives.

"Let us enjoy the beauty of togetherness amid the diversity of ethnic groups, religions, and cultures that make our Indonesia more colorful," he said.

Residents must also continue to nurture the spirit of brotherhood within the framework of unity and integrity to face challenges in the future, Amin added.

He then asked residents returning to their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families to follow the health protocols and be mindful of their safety during the journey.

"I hope we can continue maintaining our personal and family's safety and observing the health protocols. Those who return to your hometown, please be careful and prioritize safety for all," Amin said.

He concluded his remarks by reiterating his Eid al-Fitr greetings and expressing the hope that God will reward all deeds done during Ramadan.

"Once again, happy Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri. I hope the Almighty God will accept all our deeds," the Vice President remarked.
