Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian men's singles player Jonatan Christie finished as runner-up at the BWF Super 750 China Masters 2024 tournament in Shenzhen, China, on Sunday.

Christie lost to Andersen Antonsen of Denmark in two straight games, 15-21, 13-21.

In the first game, Christie struggled to maintain control of the court. He fell significantly behind his opponent, trailing 6-16 at one point. Despite a brief rally where he won six consecutive points to narrow the gap to 11-16, Antonsen ultimately took the game 21-15.

The second game was a fierce battle, with every point hard-fought. Christie led 8-6 early on, but Antonsen turned the tide, leading 11-8 at the interval. Christie fought back, launching more aggressive attacks, but Antonsen defended well and clinched the game 21-13 in 51 minutes.

"Antonsen's strategy and pattern were very effective. I got carried away by the pace of the game, became impatient, and made a lot of mistakes. In contrast, he played very calmly," Christie said, reflecting on his performance.
