Jakarta (ANTARA) - LinkAja and Alliex Co Ltd. have discussed the development of a regional digital payment network through strategic dialogue and cross-regional collaboration to strengthen the payment ecosystem in ASEAN countries.LinkAja CEO Yogi Rizkian Bahar said that collaboration with Alliex, which has a successful track record in Vietnam, could have a significant impact on the development of digital payments throughout the region, especially since LinkAja has a strong foundation in Indonesia.

"This could be an important step toward integrating payment systems in the ASEAN region," he said in a statement released in Jakarta on Tuesday.

LinkAja, an Indonesian digital payment platform, and Alliex, a rapidly growing payment infrastructure company in the ASEAN region, have begun a strategic dialogue to build a cross-regional digital payment network.

Bahar said that his side has had a constructive exchange of opinions with Alliex management.

The two companies have agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and will discuss the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build comprehensive cooperation in ASEAN region.

According to him, LinkAja is supported by leading state-owned enterprises such as Telkomsel and Bank Mandiri, so it has certain advantages, especially in digitalizing public services.

Bahar further said that the partnership has the potential to bring new developments to the ASEAN digital payment market.

"This collaboration could be an important step toward integrating payment systems in the ASEAN region," he said.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Alliex, Park Byoung-gun, said that his side has built partnerships with seven major banks in Vietnam and collaborated with five leading mobile payment companies.

Alliex is the only company in Vietnam that has succeeded in collaborating simultaneously with various banks and mobile payment companies.

Without relying on certain financial institutions, Alliex is developing a strategy that is oriented toward the future of fintech nationally.

"The integration of Indonesia's QRIS infrastructure with the payment network in Vietnam has the potential to accelerate the development of digital payments throughout the region. We also hope to include Korea and Japan, where Alliex already has a payment network," Park said.
