Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has praised the globally recognized work done by the National Alms Agency (Baznas), especially in Palestine and the Middle East.He said that Baznas is always present in areas experiencing difficulties. He also expressed his gratitude to the agency and encouraged efforts to strengthen it.
"I appreciate Baznas' hard work, which is also recognized abroad in Palestine and the Middle East. Their work is highly respected, and Baznas is always present in difficult places. Thank you, Baznas," he added at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday.
He then emphasized the importance of transparent, effective, and targeted alms management, as the government's work principle pushes clean and orderly management.
"Alms management must be carried out transparently and effectively as all government work must also be transparent, effective, targeted, and must be carried out with the cleanest and most orderly management," he added.

The head of state then invited all parties to carry out worship properly and appreciate Baznas so that it continues to carry out its duties optimally. Meanwhile, Baznas chairperson Noor Achmad expressed his gratitude to Prabowo for the support given to the agency.
In 2024, at the D8 Summit in Cairo, Egypt, Baznas strengthened the humanitarian aid program for Palestine entitled "Membasuh Luka Palestina" (washing the wounds of Palestine), which has so far collected Rp452 billion (US$26 million) in donations.

"The money has been collected for Palestine, and it cannot be transferred to another intention. Those people specifically donated for Palestine, it was also encouraged by President Prabowo's speech in Egypt," he informed.
Achmad said that Baznas has won 91 national and international awards. He expressed the hope that the efforts made by Baznas will remain in line with the expectations of the Indonesian and global communities.
A symbolic handover of several Baznas assistance programs was also carried out on the occasion, including the Z Coffee program for people with disabilities, the Human Resources internship program abroad, the Z Mart program, the Z Auto program, and the Baznas decent housing program.
