Malang, Jawa Timur (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is strengthening the capacity of officers at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or kitchens for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program across East Java to ensure MBG program runs more effectively and sustainably.Secretary of the Deputy for Systems and Governance at BGN, Ermia Sofiyessi, said in Batu City on Thursday that the capacity-building initiative aims to address various challenges in the field, ranging from human resource readiness to the operational efficiency of SPPG units.

She expressed hope that the effort would help ensure the continued and effective implementation of the MBG program throughout the province.

The program serves as a platform to deepen SPPG officers’ understanding of policies and technical mechanisms for implementing the MBG initiative.

BGN emphasized the importance of food safety, sanitation, hygiene, finance, and nutrition to ensure program management complies with operational standards.

Through the training, officers in 38 districts and cities across East Java are expected to manage SPPG units professionally, including processing raw materials into nutritious meal packages that meet safety and nutrition standards.
