Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that his Wednesday meeting with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, has yielded productive and strategic results for both nations. This was highlighted during a state luncheon hosted by President Lee at the Blue House, Seoul, on Wednesday.

"The elevation of our bilateral ties to a special comprehensive strategic partnership, together with the conclusion of several key agreements, reflects the deep trust and shared vision that binds our two nations," Prabowo remarked, according to the Presidential Secretariat.

Furthermore, he expressed optimism that the upgraded partnership and agreements will deliver meaningful and lasting benefits to the people of Indonesia and South Korea.

According to him, both nations share similarities in history, noting that Indonesia and South Korea fought hard to achieve independence and build their respective countries.

"We have many similarities in our history and we have common interests. Both our countries had to fight very hard for our independence. The Republic of Korea has succeeded very well in becoming a very advanced industrial country," he said.
