Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah praised the 1,000 Entrepreneurs Teaching movement for its contribution to enhancing the job readiness and quality of human resources.

"We extend our deepest appreciation to all participating employers, the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO), and everyone dedicated to improving the quality of human resources," she said in a statement from her ministry on Wednesday.

Speaking at the kick-off event of the 2024 Teaching Entrepreneurs at vocational high school SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 in Cikarang, West Java, she said that there are still challenges regarding Indonesia's labor quality.

Vocational human resources in Indonesia are still facing problems related to education and training, which do not meet industry's 'link and match' expectations, she expounded.

"The link and match problem is considered a classic problem that is always present in the manpower sector," she said.

She emphasized that the link and match issue extends beyond vocational training graduates, necessitating a broader analysis. Fauziyah attributed the uneven quality of training to factors like limited quantity and quality of instructors, inadequate facilities, and geographical barriers to quality education.

"These factors contribute to the mismatch between training graduates and industry needs, or it is not 'link and match', leading to unemployment," she said.

She expressed hope that the 1,000 Entrepreneurs Teaching movement would accelerate and streamline the link and match between education and industry.
