Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah leads the Indonesian delegation in a series of events taking place at the 111th International Labor Conference (ILC) in Switzerland. The conference, being held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 5-16 June, raised the theme of advancing social justice.
Minister Fauziyah said in Geneva on Sunday that Indonesia supports the convening of the 111th ILC as a means of increasing commitment and cooperation in the manpower sector among member countries of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
"We are participating in this year's ILC because Indonesia is ready and continues to be committed to increasing cooperation with other countries and the ILO to promote decent work and promote social justice for all," she said.
She explained that the ILC, which is held annually, involves tripartite elements from 187 ILO member countries. They consist of governments, employers, and trade/labor unions (SP/SB). "I am sure that the Indonesian tripartite delegation will make a real contribution to the success of this ILC through various discussions, recommendations and collaborations in responding to current global employment issues," she said.
The issues discussed at the 111th ILC include a just transition in the field of employment in response to climate change, and formulating policy recommendations on quality apprenticeship, occupational safety and health (K3) to become basic rights at work.
