Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia is in the process of joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the BRICS economic cooperation group to achieve national goals and interests. This was conveyed by Indonesia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono on the sidelines of the Conference of Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP) in Jakarta on Saturday.
"Multilateral groups, such as BRICS, OECD, IPEF (Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity), as well as TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership), can be platforms to help us realize the hopes of the nation," he said.
Sugiono said that these organizations provide a great opportunity for Indonesia to support the people's welfare and overcome major challenges, such as poverty alleviation and energy and food self-sufficiency.
"Therefore, we must cooperate and collaborate with all countries and groups," he added.

As foreign minister, he said that he assists the government by implementing President Prabowo Subianto's vision and orders, including his foreign policy.
"None of us work independently; we function as one team under the leadership of President Prabowo," he emphasized.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir stated on November 26 that Indonesia's decision to join the OECD and BRICS was an effort to realize global peace and stability.
He said that global stability will support countries in improving their citizens' lives.
Nasir emphasized that such stability is crucial for Indonesia, which is committed to carrying out the free nutritious meal program for 82 million people and the downstreaming of resources to elevate the economic value of its export commodities.
