Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, confirmed that the House would respond to the "17+8 demands by the people" that were widely circulating on social media following demonstrations throughout the country. He noted that the 17+8 demands were also points raised by several student representatives during a hearing held by the DPR RI on Wednesday.

"Including 17+8, we will hold an evaluation meeting tomorrow with faction leaders to unify opinions and reach an agreement in the DPR," Ahmad said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that during the recent demonstration in front of the parliamentary complex, House members had intended to meet the crowd. However, the rally was considered no longer a pure expression of aspirations.
