Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education said the distribution of interactive flat panels (IFPs), or interactive whiteboards, to schools is aimed at supporting deep learning.Gogot Suharwoto, the ministry's Director General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education, explained that IFPs are essential tools for interactive and deep learning.

"The interactive whiteboards, interactive content, and innovative learning methods are expected to foster deeper learning," he said in a podcast aired on Monday.

He noted that the use of IFPs in classrooms can help teachers and students discuss materials requiring visualization and interactive applications.

Suharwoto added that IFPs also support audio- and visual-based learning, which are preferred by many students. The panels allow content to be tailored to students' and teachers' needs, ranging from videos and audio to gamified content, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

He emphasized that 288,000 schools, including those in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions, have already received IFPs.

"Digitalization is not just about providing equipment. It must ensure equal learning quality across Indonesia under inclusive, adaptive, and participatory principles. All children have the right to equal education services," Suharwoto said.

He underlined that digitalization in education is a key pillar in realizing quality education for all.

"Through education, we want to address learning loss, strengthen literacy, and prepare generations to face today's challenges. Our children must not be left behind amid global technological developments," he stressed.

During a school visit in Jakarta on September 11, President Prabowo Subianto said the government aims to distribute IFPs to 330,000 schools nationwide. He expressed confidence that the technology will help address teacher shortages, particularly in remote areas.
